Al-Anon helps families and friends
of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem drinking of a relative or friend. The only requirement
for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.
Overeaters Anonymous
Overeaters Anonymous
offers a program of recovery from compulsive overeating. meetings provide a fellowship of experience, strength and hope where
members respect one another's anonymity. Unlike other organizations, OA is not just about weight loss, obesity or diets; it
addresses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. To address weight loss, OA encourages members to develop a food plan
with a health care professional and a sponsor. If you want to stop your compulsive eating, why not come to Overeaters Anonymous
at Saint As. OA meets each Wednesday, at 8p.m. in the Nazareth Institute.
Divorced & Separated
Support Group
Bimonthly Tuesday evening meetings,
from 7:30-9p.m. in the Nazareth Institute, corner of 62nd Street & Bay Parkway, provide an atmosphere of emotional
support, recovery and growth for men and women of all ages and backgrounds who are experiencing difficult times in their lives
brought about by divorce, separation or loss of a relationship. We offer a safe reassuring environment to identify and discuss
issues that are brought about by divorce & separation, however, our focus is not on legal or religious issues, but areas
of support, recovery and growth.

Anonymous
is a fellowship of men and
women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others
to recover from a gambling problem. WE HAVE A GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS GROUP HERE AT ST. A's, meeting every Friday night at 7:30p.m. in the Nazareth Institute.

BEREAVEMENT &
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS
BEREAVEMENT
AND GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP is for anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one. It provides education and sharing to
facilitate the healing of grief in a more structured group format. A weekly commitment
is needed and topics such as grief, mourning, communication with family & friends, pain, sadness, caring for yourself,
controlling stress, hidden anger, guilt, bereavement leading to personal growth and reconciliation will be explored. Journal writing is an integral part of the structured group, although the participant
is not expected to share the contents of his/her personal journal. The group
meets from 7:30 to 9:00p.m. on Mondays in the Nazareth Institute, corner of 62nd Street & Bay Parkway.
PRAYING
THROUGH GRIEF AND LOSS
St. Athanasius parish is committed to
supporting people through times of grief and loss. Praying through Grief and Loss provides time and space to recognize the
reality of grief, in a safe and nurturing environment. Through prayer, reading from the Psalms and quiet song, we acknowledge
our vulnerability before God and allow ourselves to be touched by grace. The group will meet three times a year, for
3 sessions on Mondays from 7:30-9.m.
